Allison's Self-Assessment

Midfulness - I've been trying to make time for mindfulness during my car rides home, but more and more often I've been getting rides with friends and forgetting to be mindful. I can see another problem arising in the near future - I'll be getting my license soon and then practicing mindfulness on my drive home will be completely impossible.

Exercise/ Yoga - Currently, I don't exercise at all and am actually starting to miss P.E. from last year because at least then I got a few hours of exercise a week. Right now I don't get any at all.

Diet/Nutrition - I really don't put much thought into what I put in my mouth. I go out to eat a lot, but when I do eat at home, I am really lazy when it comes to preparing meals. On top of all that, I'm a bit of a picky eater.

Sleep/Napping - Currently, I get a consistent 7 1/2 hours of sleep each night (during the week), but my weekend sleep patterns are totally inconsistent and it ruins my sleep for the rest of the week.

Organization of Personal Space - My rearranged room makes me really happy, but I have issues keeping it looking nice. I really hate hanging up my clothes and so my floor is littered with everything I've taken out of my closet in the last two weeks.

GOALS:

1. Long: Practice mindfulness 5 days a week throughout the year. Especially, during Senior year when I am bound to be stressed out from college applications etc.
Short: Pick a new time and location for practicing mindfulness.

2. Long: Join Gym with friends (a source of motivation to go) and go three days a week. Also, practice yoga at home with mom.
Short: Find lost yoga tapes and look for info on joining the Gym.

3. Long: Break my snacking/overeating habit.
Short: Limit going out to eat to 1-2 times per week and consciously choose healthy foods from the menu. Work on opening mind to eating foods I don't necessarily like (ie. Salmon).

4. Long: Get a full 8 hrs. of sleep, even on weekends.
Short: Make time for a 20 minute power nap every day. Do this especially once the play starts and I start getting only 5-6 hours of sleep each night.

5. Long: Keep room consistently clean and peaceful
Short: Train self to put away clothes RIGHT AWAY. Do not let mountains of clothes pile up on the floor.
